Star Citizen: Reverse the Verse LIVE – Object Container Streaming

ATV this week is live out of the UK with engineers, programmers and QA testers from the development team. They go in depth about what Object Container Streaming is and what it’s going to mean for Star Citizen and Squadron 42.

It’s expected to make it in for the upcoming 3.3 patch so that should be interesting. Just don’t expect it to be some holy grail of framerate or anything.

The main reason it’s going in is that Star Citizen is so huge and has so many assets that it needs to be able to load different objects for different players in real time. This means that OCS is more there to keep Star Citizen playing as it is rather than show any huge improvement in frame rate.
