The Origin 600i – Elegant and Functional

The Origin 600i

The Star Citizen Origin 600i review from the cockpit.

Updated after the 600i Q&A.

The Origin 600i comes in two variants. The 600i Touring and the 600i Explorer.

Let the voyage begin with the 2947 600i from Origin Jumpworks. This multi-role luxury vessel from Origin Jumpworks features an exquisitely detailed hull design. The 600i is designed with a cutting-edge modular technology, allowing you to customize your ship for your needs. Taking the family on a long-distance trip across the stars? The Touring module lets your guests relax in ease with stunning furniture from some of the Empire’s top designers. Looking to stamp your name in history with the discovery of a new star system? The 600i’s Explorer module swaps the lounge for a robust scanning station as well as additional utility hardpoints to increase the ship’s effectiveness even more. Regardless of where your journey takes you, the 600i guarantees that you’ll get there fast and in style.

You’ll notice that the two versions have very little in the way of storage area compared to similar sized ships. This is intentional and represents the fact that this is a luxury vehicle. Space is taken up by creature comforts like holoprojectors and pool tables and luxury materials like wood and rare metals.

The stats page is a little confusing when it comes to missiles. Each model can carry a total of 16 S3 missiles.

The two modules, Touring and Exploration, are the only modules planned for the 600i. It’s possible that other modules could be made, but they’re not planned for now.

The Origin 600i Explorer

Star Citizen Origin 600i Explorer Review

Embark on your next adventure with your Origin 600i Explorer Module. This pre-fitted module comes with a robust scanning array and additional utility hardpoints to give your systems that extra boost when pushing boundaries. This ship package also includes Origin’s entry to the rover market, perfect for traversing faraway landscapes. The Exploration model also adds extra storage, however, that 36 SCU of cargo space is without Origin’s new rover in its bay. If you have the rover in the bay you will most likely lose most of the 20 SCU added by the Exploration Module.

The 600i Explorer will feature two manned scanning stations and be roughly equivalent to the Constellation Aquila without a snub fighter. The Carrack will still outclass it in the exploration realm. It’s really designed to be flown by explorers looking to do so in luxury.

Star Citizen Origin 600i Q & A
The Touring Model of the 600i is going to be great for those people that wanted the 890 Jump but missed the sale or simply didn’t want to spend that much money.

The Explorer will be for those that was the functionality of a Constellation Aquila but with the extra styling that Origin brings to the table.
